Learning to Love You More is a website you should check out. The premise of the site is to, "guide people to their own experience." Participants voluntarily complete the assignments posted on the site, simply for the sake of completing them. The reward is the experience. This has inspired me to design something similar.
I would like to develop a project based on this idea of doing things simply for the sake of doing something new for yourself, but with music. The idea would be that musicians could complete assignments based around studies on, for example, specific composers, photographs, emotions, genres, instruments, etc. Obviously not everyone would have the means to record and submit the projects like they do on LLYM, but, they could no doubt try to complete it for themselves.
I think I am going to start this project soon. Perhaps I will see what some other musician friends of mine think about it first... If anyone would like to give me feedback on this idea, please give it.

solitude and silence
I found a new poet tonight whose work I like a lot. I cannot seem to find anything about them though. There is quite an extensive collection of her work on poemhunter (i assume it is a she after reading a some poems). This is one of her pieces.
Solitude and Silence
All I have to offer
is solitude and silence.
No accomplishments to speak of,
having never finished anything
worth finishing
except bad relationships
and good friendships
I now regret not keeping.
Those I feel closest to
are the furthest away from me
while I keep myself distant
from those who are near.
If all you seek is solitude and silence,
this I can promise you without breaking.
I only ask in return, to be allowed
my silence and solitude
from you.
